Lemon has a lot of vitamin B which softens the blood cells improving blood circulation; honey reduces the heart pressure; so a glass of lemon juice mixed with honey is a good way to reduce hypertension the natural way. Fenugreek and watermelon seeds are great remedies too; make a paste out of the fenugreek seeds and consume a teaspoon of this every morning and evening for noticeable results.

The only way to really control blood pressure levels from skyrocketing is to make changes in the things that you would normally eat. If you are overweight, then your diet should be planned with the aim of helping you to lose weight, as an excess amount of weight can lead to blood pressure. A diet that is largely vegetarian is the best one for those with blood pressure. So eat a lot of parsley, garlic, lemon, spinach, bitter gourd. You can also include grilled chicken and salmon. As mentioned earlier, fruits can also help curb blood pressure; you can also have a lot of dried fruits as snacks. Salt is another factor behind hypertension, cut out as much salt as possible. Processed foods contain a lot of salt, things like ready to eat potato chips, noodles and anything that contains high amounts of monosodium glutamate (MSG) is not advisable. Certain fresh foods like eggs, red meats have a lot of salt; both these foods must be cut out. Replace coffee and tea with herbal teas, which are easily available in any store. Avoid excessive use of oil, especially the hydrogenated ones and cut down on cereals as well.
