Solved shortcut method example on numerical ability – quantitative aptitude question and solution.

Que: Simplify (0.05*0.05*0.05 + 0.04*0.04*0.04)/(0.05*0.05 – 0.05*0.04 + 0.04*0.04)

Ans: Take a = 0.05 and b = 0.04
we have (a^3 + b^3) = (a + b)(a^2 – a*b + b^2)
therefore (a+b) = (a^3 + b^3) / (a^2 – a*b + b^2)
(a^3 + b^3) / (a^2 – a*b + b^2) => (0.05*0.05*0.05 + 0.04*0.04*0.04)/(0.05*0.05 – 0.05*0.04 + 0.04*0.04)
and the result is a+b = 0.05 + 0.04 = 0.09
so (0.05*0.05*0.05 + 0.04*0.04*0.04)/(0.05*0.05 – 0.05*0.04 + 0.04*0.04) = 0.09
