Home Remedies for Gas and Acidity
Our stomach digests foods by producing an acidic liquid that releases enzymes that break down the food particles. An excess of this acid can however, cause a lot of pain and discomfort, this most common and obvious indicator of acidity. High levels of this acidity can travel up the esophagus and cause a burning sensation known as acid reflux. Consistent occurrence of these symptoms can damage tissues in the stomach and esophagus. Gas is also produced to transform the food into energy; this creates a sense of fullness. Both gas and acidity are indicative of digestion problems and accumulate to produce toxins.
