Best DIY Homemade Pet Odor Eliminator

There are many chemical pet odor removers or neutralizer but homemade odor neutralizer spray is a lifesaver. You only require some ingredients that are easily available at home to make these neutralizers like baking soda, vinegar, lemon juice, etc. These home-made sprays help to get rid of dog smell, cat litter odor and any other odor by absorbing it naturally.

METHOD – 1

What You Need:
1. White distilled vinegar – 1 cup

2. Distilled or filtered water – 1 cup

3. Spray bottle

4. Paper towel or rag

Instructions:
1. Put white distilled vinegar and water into a spray bottle.

2. Shake it well to mix the solution well.

3. Put the solution on the area having pet odor.

4. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes.

5. Blot the solution with a paper towel or rag.

6. Allow the area to get dry.

7. Once the area gets dry, clean it with mop or vacuum.

METHOD – 2

What You Will Need:
1. Distilled water – 1¾ cups

2. Baking soda – 1 teaspoon

3. Fresh lemon juice – 1 tablespoon

Instructions:
1. Add distilled water, baking soda and lemon juice in a large bowl.

2. Stir them together nicely.

3. The solution may fizz a little bit, so let it sit till it stops fizzing.

4. Put the mixture into a clean spray bottle and shake it well.

5. Spray the solution on area that needs to be refreshed 2–3 times per day to get rid of odors.

METHOD – 3

What You Will Need:
1. Distilled vinegar – 2 cups

2. Lukewarm water – 2 cups

3. Baking soda – 1 cup

Instructions:
1. Clean the area.

2. Mix lukewarm water and distilled vinegar in a spray bottle.

3. Sprinkle dry baking soda on the area.

4. Let it sit for about 5 minutes.

5. Sprinkle the water-vinegar solution directly onto the baking soda.

6. This will create a mini volcano that will neutralize the odor and remove stain.

7. After 5 minutes, blot with a soft cloth to let it dry.

8. Once the area gets dry, clean it with mop or vacuum.

METHOD – 4

What You Will Need:
1. Baking soda – 1 cup

2. Hydrogen peroxide – ½ cup

3. Dish liquid – 1 teaspoon

4. Paper towel or rag

Instructions:
1. Add hydrogen peroxide, baking soda and dish liquid in spray bottle.

2. Shake it well so the ingredients get mix nicely.

3. Pour the handful of baking soda over the area.

4. Let it stay for 10 minutes.

5. Slowly pour the solution over baking soda.

6. Blot the area with paper towel or rag and let it to dry.

7. Once the area gets dry, clean it with mop or vacuum.

METHOD – 5

What You Will Need:
1. Water – 1 liter

2. Brown sugar – 7 tablespoons

3. Lemon or orange peels – 1½ cups

Instructions:
1. Funnel brown sugar in a bottle and add orange or lemon peels to it.

2. Then, add water to it and tightly cover the bottle with a cap.

3. Shake it well so the ingredients get mix well.

4. Loosen the cap so that the gases gets released and bottle don’t get explode.

5. Keep it for 3 months, so that the odor neutralizer gets ready to use.
