How to Eat Carbs and Still Lose Weight
It is said if a person want to lose weight, he/she needs to cut his/her carb intake but it is not necessary. A person can still loss weight without completely eliminating carbs in their diet. According to research people who take carbs lose more weight than those who don’t take no-carb or low-carb diet.
The amount of carbs that a person need depends upon two factors:
- How much weight you need to lose
- Where on your body you need to lose the weight
You need to understand how much carbs your body needs on any given day. Most people prefer a ketogenic-diet which means low-carb diet. But this diet is not fit for all as different amount of carbs are needed by different people. A more active person body needs more carbs than less active person. According to studies, people who have poor insulin sensitivity lose more weight by following a moderate-carb diet and on the other hand people who are lean and have good insulin sensitivity lose weight by following both moderate or low-carb diet.
When people follow a keto-diet, they usually take foods that contain less than 50g carbs but they are high in fat and calories that result in weight gain. You should eat carbs that are rich in fiber, satisfying and have a low energy density as they help in weight loss and improve cholesterol. When your weight is balanced, avoid eating grains and starches and instead take carbs from fruits and vegetables.
Thus to lose an amount of weight, you don’t need to eliminate all carbohydrates from your diet but instead restrict your carbs intake to a level that makes you feel best. You must watch your portion control, a diet that is customized according to your needs and up your exercise to burn off more calories than you take.
